Kate Moss dropped from ad campaign
It looks like public pressure has finally forced H&M to do the right thing and drop Kate Moss from their line-up. It's about time...
They announced that "after evaluating the situation, we have decided that a campaign with Kate Moss is not consistent with H&M's clear disassociation from drugs."
That's not really true, of course. What they mean is "we got caught trying to have it both ways, and it looks like keeping the cokehead would have cost us more than we would have earned by keeping her on." Whatever.
It's a pity they couldn't have done the right thing without having to be shamed into it, but maybe others in the industry will have to take a second look at their practices in light of this incident and re-examine how they're doing business too. Hey, I can hope, right?
